Homestyle Round Fries are a comforting and delicious twist on the classic French fry. I make them by slicing large baking potatoes into thick, round slices, but you can use any type of potato you prefer. You can use an air fryer, lightly spraying the slices with oil and adding salt, or fry them on the skillet for a crispy finish. These versatile fries are perfect for dipping in ketchup or your favorite sauce.
Homestyle Round Fries
I call these my homestyle round fries, or sometimes just home fries. It's honestly quicker and easier than frozen fries or tater tots and if you use an air fryer there is less clean up. This recipe is plenty for 2 people if you are using a large Russet potato. Serve with a little ketchup or eat them plain, they're good both ways. Enjoy!
Equipment
- Air fryer
Ingredients
- 1 large Russet baking potato
Instructions
- Clean your potato under cold water
- Slice into even slices, about 1/3 inch thick, no need to peel.
- Spray both sides with vegetable or olive oil spray and lightly salt.
- Lay in a single layer in the air fryer.
- Cook for 15 minutes at 400 degrees, turning pieces halfway through.
- Monitor your potatoes and remove from air fryer at desired doneness.
Notes
Once removed from the air fryer toss in salt and pepper, serve with ketchup or condiment of choice. These things go great with burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, or just about anything!
